True Blue
Memphis Lawmen of 1948
An Independent Documentary Film by
George Tillman

George Tillman, shot the documentary in
an attempt to show people the challenges
those officers faced and how they
overcame them.

Tillman says 1948 was the year a number
of white police officers were accused of
extreme brutality against
Africa-American residents.

As a result, Memphis Mayor Boss Crump
held a meeting with members of the
black community.

The premiere is being presented by
Tillman’s company Cinematic Arts, the
Ernest Withers Foundation and the African
American Police Association, which will
receive a portion of the $10 admission fee.
